It is situated in the touristic centre of town, surrounded by the Paseo Vista Alegre and the Paseo de la Libertad.
The Torrevieja port has a length of 300 metres that are not sufficient for the mooring of the fleet, which usually exceeds the number of 15 boats, plus those arriving from the neighbouring towns of San Pedro del Pinatar, Mazarrón and Águilas.
There is also a fish market which was built in 1969 and a large auction sale room, as well as a storage room, an ice storehouse and a cold-storage room, megaphony equipment and an electronic platform scale.
Near these large rooms there is a 400 sq. metres tent that protects from bad weather conditions the place where the fishing nets are made.
